OVERVIEW

Within the Euretos Platform, it is very easy to perform a search for a combination of multiple biological concepts. There is, in principle, no limitation to the number of concepts that one can combine within a single search.

BACKGROUND

Often, one is interested in a combination of multiple biological concepts, e.g., a gene in the context of a particular disease. The Euretos Platform offers an intuitive interface to search for results containing multiple terms of interest.

In this example, we show how one can search for publications and database records in our knowledge base that contain these two biological concepts: the gene concept 'APOE' and the disease concept 'Alzheimer's disease'.

STEPS

Note

A user action, such as click or enter, is italicized.

A visible item on the platform, such as a [link] or a [button], is in square brackets.

A link to another article or external source is underlined.

1. Enter a search term in the search box
2. Click to open the concept selection tool
3. Select your first concept of interest
4. Click on [Add Concept] to open the concept selection tool again
5. Select your second concept of interest
6. Repeat till you have all your concepts of interest.

Note

Although can perform combination searches with many terms, there is no guarantee that a specific search case (combining more than three concepts) will yield valuable results.
