OVERVIEW

Euretos Search enables you to identify genes associated with a drug or chemical very quickly. The list of genes are created and ranked based on the number of publications and databases that co-mention the searched drug or chemical and other genes.

STEPS

Note

A user action, such as click or enter, is italicized.

A visible item on the platform, such as a [link] or a [button], is in square brackets.

A link to another article or external source is underlined.

1. Enter a drug or chemical in the search box.
2. Click on the search suggestion provided on the right panel that matches your search term.

!

Important: You need to click on one of the options available to proceed with the search. This step allows the platform to recognize your search term (e.g. gene versus protein) and link it to the Euretos knowledge base.

When the gene is selected and recognized,  different category buttons appear below the search box.

Click on the link provided in the [Search recommendations] box to search with synonyms of the search term if provided.

3.  Click on the [genes] category. An initial list of related genes to the drug or chemical appears on the right hand size.
4. Click the [open as set] link in the Related genes panel to open a pop-up window showing the entire set of related genes and filter options.

Note

The filter options are specific for the concept type of the search term. Filters for filtering a gene set related to a gene as the starting search term are described here: How to filter and find relevant genes associated with a gene?

5. Click the [Save] button to save the set in the pop-up window.

Note

The gene set will be saved in [Sets] folder.

Possible next steps

  • Apply filter to narrow down the genes in the set
  • Analyze gene set in [Analytics] and [Relation Map]
