How to perform literature search with a set?

Created by Arie Baak, Modified on Wed, 03 May 2023 at 08:54 AM by Arie Baak

OVERVIEW

You can perform literature search of your sets using the heatmap function. From the heatmap, you can access the references in which the concepts from your set and any concepts of interest are both mentioned.

STEPS

Note

A user action, such as click or enter, is italicized.

A visible item on the platform, such as a [link] or a [button], is in square brackets.

A link to another article or external source is underlined.

1. Locate the set for the search in the [Sets] folder. Headers located above the list of sets allows you to sort and filter based on the title of the set or the tags associated with the set.

2. Click the [build heatmap] icon (first one from the left) on the right hand side to edit the set. A new screen will be shown for you to add concepts to build a heatmap.

Note

There are other actionable icons located to the far right of each set. Hover over each icon to find out what each icon does.

3. Type in a concept to be added to the heatmap in the text box. Once the first concept is entered,  a heatmap showing reference co-occurrence counts (both publication abstracts and database annotations) is automatically generated.

Note

As you type, concepts stored in the Euretos knowledge base that matches your input will be generated for you to select.

4. Enter as many concepts as you want to build the heatmap. Refer to this article on how to interpret the heatmap and assess references presented in the heatmap.

Possible next steps

  • Click through the heatmap to look at those concept relations with high publication counts and explore the search results
  • Select concepts in the heatmap to build a relation map
